If you want to run ahead of the pack in full-on competitive racing, the enduring popularity of Arrow Shark's Flying Dragon will be your first clue that this hull is a pure-bred winner. Amongst the longest of the world's circuit-racing monohulls at 47inches (most others are around 44inches), the Flying Dragon can better handle the choppy waters that are part of the action when a fleet of close-running racers are carving up the lake. Including the rudder, the boat measures 52inches overall (1,320mm) and its hull design is well recognised for its excellent handling characteristics. This makes it a great boat for new gas boat drivers too, as it balances high performance with stability and good manners. For 2012, the Flying Dragon continues with all the added features we packed in last year such as CNC-engineered hardware, a Stinger drive unit and trim tabs that are all fully adjustable to tune your boat for maximum results, a high capacity water pump driven from the engine's crankcase pressure pulses, a tuned pipe that has an integral muffler, AS6717/3 SBP high preformance prop, As well, we have upgraded to a CNC-machined metal servo tray in the radio box which is stronger (and looks better!) than our previous wooden tray, and a fibreglass molding holds the fuel tank more securely at the high speeds and during the tight turns that these boats are capable of executing, and an eye-catching paint and graphics package. At Arrow Shark though we are always striving to do better, so for 2012 we have given the Flying Dragon a massive performance boost with our lastest billet-built version of the XP254M engine which pumps out 6+hp at 19,000+rpm! You can find more details of this potent engine elsewhere on our website along with our new and improved clutch that uses a CNC-machined no-spring plate for higher performance and even better reliability. To maximise the benefits that the XP254M brings to the Flying Dragon, we have fitted a new Wrap-To-Flush exhaust header for a shorter tuned pipe length of around 370mm (from the exhaust flange to the middle of the tuned pipe); our previously-used Wrap-To-Centre header gave too long a tuned pipe length for the XP254M and did not deliver the engine's full potential. and the sleek style and colorful finish add further appeal to its stand-out trophy-winning performance.
