Introduction

After months of developing and testing, Arrow Shark is proud to release our new CNC billet steerable MC611 Sterndrive. This was inspired by the latest full-size Mercury Racing Dry-Sump Six Drive which is used by the very top offshore racing teams and which has built a reputation for bullet-proof operation under the most extreme conditions - a reputation we aim to reproduce with our near-scale version for gas-powered RC boats.
As well as performance, the MC611 Sterndrive has been designed to be a visual work of art with more than six hours CNC-machining of billet aluminum required to produce the lower unit alone. That unit is then anodized in silver for both corrosion protection and enhanced style. The upper unit is anodized in contrasting black to make the total MC611 Sterndrive simply stunning to look at, and a true highlight when fitted to the transom of your boat.
The Drive can be used in a single or dual installation, and can accept counter-rotation. Dual installations may require some slight modification to accept a Tie-Bar to link the Drives for accurate steering alignment. The Drive is suitable for engines up to 10hp,
Our MC611 Sterndrive has hardened shafts and pinion gears bathed in grease and oil supporting by eight ball-bearings for ultra smooth operation and negligible power loss through the drive train. The input shaft takes a standard ? inch flex shaft with a squared end for easy connection to your engine. The output shaft is geared to rotate 15 per cent faster than your engine for higher speeds with more efficient props. The prop thrust angle is easy to manually adjust for the best running attitude of your hull.
The MC611 Sterndrive simply bolts to the transom and can work with about any of the 26cc engines on the market for use in RC boats. Of course, the MC611 Sterndrive is steerable too, so you don't need a separate rudder assembly. Just connect your rudder servo to the steering arms of the MC611 Sterndrive and make sure you allow for the improved turning ability of your boat when you vector the prop thrust to either side.
